Area 03
Veterans ministry
Coming home from war is not the end of the road
01 · About the area
Our ministry does not end with demobilisation
Veterans ministry is the continuation of our chaplaincy mission after a soldier returns from the front. This is often when a person meets new challenges: military service ends, the familiar circle of comrades disappears, the rhythm of life changes, and questions of health, social protection, legal support and one’s place in peaceful society arise.
So we keep being there, helping veterans walk the road of adaptation, socialisation and return to active life.
02 · Three steps
From the first meeting to a community
- HUB VeteransRegular meetings, short spiritual talks, prayer and getting to know those who need support.
- Banya with veteransA space of rehabilitation, socialisation and brotherhood where you can simply be among your own.
- Coffee with a veteranEvery Sunday at the Odesa People’s Church: new acquaintances, community, spiritual growth.
What we value especially is that many veterans who walked this road themselves are now part of our team. They serve other veterans, support newcomers, help run the meetings and show by their own example that even after the hardest trials a person can find new meaning, a new community and a new calling.
