Regular trips to military units

Front-line ministry is one of the key areas of our mission. We regularly travel to military units to be there with the defenders and to support them spiritually, morally and practically.

We travel both as a team of chaplains and chaplain assistants of the Odesa People’s Church and as part of an interdenominational chaplaincy team coordinated by our church. It includes representatives of different Christian denominations: Protestant churches, the Roman Catholic Church, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and others. Together we serve soldiers regardless of their denomination.

On the basis of a memorandum between the Christian Rescue Service and the 30th Marine Corps we cooperate continuously with units of the 39th Separate Marine Brigade, and we also support soldiers of other units in response to their needs.

Our ministry covers spiritual care, prayer, pastoral conversation and practical help matched to a unit’s current needs.

Prayer, God’s Word, pastoral conversations and personal time with soldiers.

Humanitarian aid

Food, equipment and supplies matched to specific requests from units and individual soldiers.

Transport and logistics

Delivering vehicles and necessary equipment, driving cars to the front, help with transportation.

03 · Serving with skills

Specialists serve alongside the chaplains

People of many professions join our trips and use their knowledge and talents to support the defenders.

One gives a good haircut, another helps restore strength with a massage, another cooks hot home-made food, and another simply finds the time to listen, to encourage and to pray together.

We believe that every talent dedicated to God can become a source of support, hope and recovery for those who are defending Ukraine today.
